Here are some great summer activities for kids in Lubbock:

🎢 Outdoor Adventure & Parks

  • Water Rampage – Lubbock’s only water park offers slides, lazy rivers, wave pools, and family movie nights in the pool 

  • Adventure Park – A 20‑acre complex with mini golf, go‑karts, zip‑line, arcade, and more fun rides for all ages 

  • SUPLBK – Paddleboard or kayak on Dunbar Historic Lake; they even offer guided night paddles and yoga on the water — peaceful and active. 

  • Mackenzie Park & Prairie Dog Town – Explore open green spaces and watch prairie dogs in a natural sanctuary 

🎭 Educational & Arts Programs

  • Science Spectrum & Omni Theater – Hands-on science exhibits, live demos, an aquarium, and domed theater shows. They also host STEM summer camps 

  • Buddy Holly Center – Museum plus free summer music/camp programs: weekly Mini Camp Mondays (ages 6‑18) and evening guitar lessons 

  • LHUCA & Downtown Arts Trail – Clay CafĂ© studios, family art hours, First Friday Art Trail events, and creative summer camps

  • City Parks & Rec Programs – Free/low‑cost family events, classes, and summer programming run by Lubbock Parks & Rec 

  • TEGA Kids Superplex & Day Camps – Gymnastics, ninja zones, swim, and full‑day camp experiences (K‑5th grade). Includes field trips, trampoline fun, and social activities 

  • TEGA Little Creek TexStar Athletics – Sports‑centric day camps with tumbling, open gym, playground time, crafts, and tons of fun themes 

  • YWCA Summer Camp + Sun ’n Fun Pool – M‑F full-day care with lunch & snacks, plus access to pool facilities; weekly fees apply 

  • Premier Sportsplex Camps & Pool Pass – Multi‑sport camps plus access to pool (open Memorial Day to August 10), group fun included 

  • Specialty Camps – Photography at National Ranching Heritage Center, STEM/art camps via Macaroni Kid, soccer camps, Camp Invention, and Texas Tech museum-themed offerings like Wizard Camp
