In Game 1 of the Finals, the Pacers did what they always do, which is win in comeback fashion.
They railed by as many as 15 in the fourth quarter and never led until Tyrese Haliburton nailed a jumpshot with 0.3 seconds left on the clock, giving Indy a 111-110 advantage.
That would end up being the final score.
Game 2 was a bit of a different story. The Thunder once again took a big lead and led by as many as 22 in the fourth quarter. They held onto it this time.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 34 for the Thunder and Alex Caruso chipped in 20 off the bench.
Then, in Game 3, the Pacers consolidated their theft of home court with a 116-107 win. It was the first Finals game in Indiana in over 20 years.
Recent history was on the Pacers' side. The last 41 times the Finals were tied 1-1, the winner of Game 3 went on to win the series 33 times.
However, powered by 35 points from SGA, the Thunder came back from a 10-point deficit in the third quarter to steal Game 4 in Indiana, evening the series.
Game 5 began to look like Game 1 all over again, with OKC taking a big lead. OKC was up by 18 late in the second quarter and then Indiana staged a significant comeback in the fourth quarter. Thunder stars Jalen Williams and MVP Gilgeous-Alexander combined for 71 points in their Game 5 win. Williams was 14-of-24 from the field, and SGA added 10 assists.
